How to Use UV DTF Printhead Cleaning Solution?
Method 1: Capping Station Soak (Safest – Recommended First)
What You Need:
- UV DTF cleaning solution (high-strength if clogged)
- Syringe or dropper
- Lint-free swab
- Gloves
Steps:
- Move the printhead to the side.
- Fill the capping station (the rubber pad where the printhead rests) with 1–2 ml of cleaning solution using a syringe or dropper.
- Slide the printhead back over the capping station so it sits directly on the solution.
- Leave it to soak for minimum 15 min. or 4-5 hours to overnight for bad clogs.
- After soaking, power on the printer.
- Run 3–5 head cleaning cycles from the printer software or control panel.
- Print a nozzle check to evaluate.
Method 2: Manual Flushing Through Dampers (For Stubborn Clogs)
Use only if soaking doesn’t work. Requires care.
What You Need:
- Syringe with silicone tubing
- DTF printhead cleaning solution
- Gloves and tissue
- Lint-free cloth
Steps:
- Power off and unplug the printer.
- Open the printer and find the ink dampers (connected to the printhead).
- Remove the damper of the clogged color.
- Attach syringe (filled with 1–2 ml cleaning solution) to the damper port or directly to printhead inlet (via tubing).
- Slowly and gently push cleaning solution through the port. Never force!
- Let solution sit inside for 10–15 minutes.
- Gently flush again. You should see ink and residue drip from the nozzle surface.
- Repeat if necessary.
- Reconnect dampers, run 2–3 head cleans, then test print.
